Whatever your age you may be, it’s always the right time to care for your teeth. Our goal is to provide our patients with a thorough checkup of their oral well-being. We will conduct a complete physical exam, remove any plaque and tartar that has built up over time, floss, polish, and then rinse! Your mouth will feel clean and fresh when you leave. Our preventative services consists of education on the treatment and maintenance of oral health.
Periodontal disease, commonly known as “gum disease” or “gingivitis” occurs when plaque and bacteria develop along the gumline causing red and swollen gums. Thankfully, it can easily be treated. Our expert hygienists will conduct a thorough cleaning and will educate you on preventative maintenance. It’s important to use a quality and soft toothbrush twice a day, mouthwash and floss. After the symptoms are reduced, we recommend frequent visits to monitor the periodontal disease.
A smile can go a long way, so brighten yours today! Our teeth whitening service will remove the stains and discoloration that has built up on your enamel and the outer layer of your teeth. This helps create a whiter and brighter smile. You can whiten your teeth for the cost of your morning coffee everyday!
A crown is used to cover a damaged tooth to improve its appearance, shape and alignment. A porcelain or ceramic crown is placed over a fractured, weak or poorly shaped tooth to give it a natural-looking and feeling foundation. Crowns can be built right in our practice and applied in the same day.
Missing teeth can cause your remaining teeth to rotate, develop a bad bite, gum disease, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. To prevent this, the staff at Kimberly Dryden Pitts, D.D.S, P.C. will “bridge” those gaps by cementing artificial teeth to the adjacent missing teeth.
Restore your smile! Implant restorations prevent shifting teeth, gum disease and jawbone deterioration. When one or more teeth are missing, a metal screw is inserted into the gums to replace the root. After your body adjusts to the screw, a crown is implemented to act as a natural-looking tooth.
Dentures are alternatives for those missing most of their teeth. They can be conveniently taken out and put back in. Although they could take some getting used to, dentures feel as comfortable as your natural teeth.
Partial dentures are alternatives to full dentures and for those who do not need a full set of teeth replaced. Partial dentures sit on a metal frame and attach to your remaining teeth. Implants can also be inserted to serve as an anchor for the partial denture.
The alignment of your teeth is just as important as the teeth. Overbites, crossbites, and underbites are misalignments or “occlusions” of the teeth. They can be caused by a malformed jaw that has developed earlier on in life. Thankfully, your uneven bite can be realigned. Our hygienists will perform x-rays to best evaluate the severity of the deviation and then make the best recommendations for treatment.
Although the idea of getting your teeth pulled is an intimidating thought, it may be a necessary procedure for when your teeth are broken, damaged or decayed. We will work with you to determine the best treatment plan before and after the extraction so you know exactly what to expect. The extractions can be done in the comfort of our office for your convenience.
When bacteria has decayed a tooth, a filling is inserted to restore it to its original state. The process of a filling begins with removing any kind of decay, cleaning the area and filling it with either gold, silver, plastic or a porcelain material. Filling the tooth ensures that no bacteria can enter. We will make sure the right material is used so your mouth feels comfortable and looks as natural as possible.
When a tooth does not have enough foundation to support an entire filling, an inlay is placed directly onto the surface of the tooth. When a greater majority of the tooth is missing, an onlay is placed to completely cover the tooth and protect from further damage. Inlay and onlays are composed of resin material to support, strengthen, restore shape and protect against any future damage.
